Juan José is a partner in the Corporate and Financial Practice Area. He has extensive experience advising domestic and international companies, financial institutions, investors, and startups on corporate, financial, and mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions. He also regularly participates in matters related to venture capital, project finance, and digital businesses.

His practice focuses on complex corporate matters, financing transactions, financial regulation, and legal support for technology companies and Fintech businesses. He has advised numerous companies on business structuring processes, investments, financing transactions, and the development of strategic projects.

Throughout his professional career, he has distinguished himself as a founding partner of Sumara Hub Legal and as the head of the legal department of one of the country’s leading trust companies. He has also advised several Fintech companies on their entry into the Peruvian market and on banking and securities market regulatory matters, including issues related to financial innovation and Open Banking.

He is currently a professor in graduate and executive education programs at ESAN University and a frequent speaker at business and academic events on financial technology, innovation, and digital business regulation. He is also the author of various articles on trends and new regulations within the Fintech industry.
